DIY Instructions
First things first, switch off the computer and remove the power supply and the battery. Do not attach power at any point during this process.First you need to remove your existing faulty screen. This can be a delicate process but is usually not complicated. First you need to remove the plastic or rubber concealers on the front of your laptop. These are used to hide the ugly screws head. Prise this out with a screwdriver or knife point. Be careful not to scratch the plastic as its usually quite soft and can scratch easily. Now remove each of the screws. Remember which screws came from where.
Now you'll need to remove the plastic bezel. Normally this is clicked on via small catches. Take the thin edge either side of the screen in hand and pull it gently away from the screen. Do not apply pressure to the screen itself. Normally the bezel will pop off with effort and movement. Once removed you can see inside.
Now you need to remove the securing that hold the lcd panel in place. You will notice some leads going to the screen at this stage and you may even see the inverter at the bottom which provides electiricity to the backlight. Carefully remove the securing screws while holding the screen. Be careful not to twist or pull any leads.
Once the screen is completely removed from the securing you will be able to move it forward and from the back you can take off the connecting leads. The backlight lead simply pulls out, while back connector is either taped in place or has securing clips. Remove carefully. Now you can order your lcd screen to match your existing screen.
Once your new screen has arrived you can replace the old one by following the process in reverse. And hey presto you have a new laptop screen.
